Kev Mac Allhood Publications is the brainchild of an LA native, Kev Mac. The magazine mainly focuses on issues surrounding the inner city areas on the West Coast and spotlights undiscovered talent, local celebrities, and provides a forum for local residents and writers from everywhere to speak out. We also feature Hip Hop Artists and all things associated with the streets of Urban Communities.

Kev has always stressed that there is a whole lot of talent in the inner cities that have never been seen or heard simply because of their lack of opportunity and chances. There is a growing number of models, actors, artists, rappers, singers, writers, etc; “This is for them”, says the man on a mission to open doors and eyes, “these are the people that may never be seen on TV or any other public venue. My magazine will be covering the issues in our communities that won’t be televised or praised in the L.A. Times and other well known magazines.”

By his side are longtime friends Laurence Reed and Baby Mac, friends since their teenage years. Trapped in the concrete jungles of L.A. County and surrounding areas, often forgot about anyone but the police and Social Services, are voices that are shut out from the world, musically, verbally, and socially. Also shut out are the faces of what could be super models or academy award winners; dead end circumstances might be impeding future Nobel peace prize winners or other significant accomplishments from being achieved. Kev shares the fact that “Struggles are not being heard, this is why there is nothing being done about it. I aim to change that by providing exposure and the proper outlet.” Both Laurence and Baby Mac provide resources to help make this Publication come together. Kevs' visions and coordination could not be done without Jennifer Reagles and her Graphic talents. When called upon Terrell 'Loko' Wright, Anthony 'Papa T' Miles, and Timothy 'Big H' Kornegay provide great writing skills as they paint a sometimes cold vision of the ghetto and the realities of life in South Los Angeles.

Also focused on heavily in the magazine is perhaps its most important aspect, gang intervention. The issues plaguing our communities in regards to gangs are in dire need of change. While Kev and Tatta B. use their real life experiences, the two of them along with ‘L’ and Mangler pull their resources from personal experience and the streets to document the history of Tribal Affairs. Allhood Publications places serious emphasis on local youth sports teams and hosts sponsorship drives and fundraisers. Extra curricular activities tend to keep kids off the streets; the magazine’s efforts include recruiting to assist in the future efforts to provide sponsorship and donations to our children. “There is so much more they can do, there are plenty of local famous people that can do something to help offer these kids the opportunities for a better way and a future.” Kev says “I need help, I need people to understand its not all about us, its about our kids! I need support in my efforts, I need people to rally behind me and this magazine, I need people to understand me and what I am trying to do here. Do not judge me by the models and the red and blue bandanas; judge me on my peace efforts, my writings, my goals and my actions. I truly have a purpose in mind and this magazine is my public platform for that purpose.”

In between the entertainment, aspects will always be hard-core points of view and topics of street politics with racial epitomes and criticism for our lack of leadership and understanding. Kev Mac insists that he is very shy, but never afraid to take on street issues in the public’s eye. “I am not afraid to go head on with my strong opinions. I am not afraid to bring issues usually swept under the rug to the forefront and expose often unspoken situations in minority communities. My partners know my vision, they know my struggles, and they have to roll with me if we’re going to be successful, make an impact on society and become a household name."

On July 28, 2008 Kev heled to arrange a huge protest for his childhood friend Kevin Wicks, against Inglewood Police Department's Officer Ragan where he spearheaded the campaign along with Pastor BJ King. Pastor Logan, Minister Tony Muhammad, and Le Bumba participated and made sure the rally was peaceful but purposeful.
